Overveiw
Fomtec AFFF 3% is an aqueous film forming foam concentrate composed of a blend of fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon surfactants, along with various solvents and stabilizers. It utilizes short-chain C6 pure fluorochemistry, ensuring environmental compliance. This formulation creates a unique film that rapidly cuts off the oxygen supply to the fire, while its oleophobic properties form a stable foam blanket to suppress reignition.
Features
- Short-Chain C6 Pure Fluorochemistry: Environmentally responsible formulation.
- International Approvals: Certified to EN 1568, MED, ICAO Level B, and GOST standards.
- Versatility: Effective on both Class A and B fires.
- Expansion Capabilities: Suitable for low and medium expansion foam applications.
- Temperature Resilience: Freeze-protected versions available for various climates.
Fire Performance & Foaming
Fomtec AFFF 3% has demonstrated exceptional fire performance, adhering to international approvals. Its design parameters vary based on the system and application, and usage should follow established design guidelines. Foaming properties depend on equipment used and environmental factors such as water and ambient temperatures. In tests using the UNI 86 test nozzle according to EN 1568-3, the foam achieved an average expansion ratio of 7:1 and a 25% drainage time of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
